VIETNAM
Today we got some news regarding adoptions in Vietnam. The bilateral agreement will expire on Sept. 1st. Vietnam has agreed to complete adoptions for the individuals that receive an official referral by Sept. 1st. We were dossier to Vietnam on Nov. 12, 2007. Our agency is estimating a wait time of 6-9 months from the time that your dossier is submitted to the time of your referral. No one knows at this time whether we will make the cut-off. Another statement was released that talks of corruption within Vietnam pertaining to adoptions. This is very upsetting news. Please pray, not only for our adoption, but for the innocent babies that are stuck in the middle.

Our ammended home study was sent to DSS last Friday. We are wating on our pre-approval from the US government (I-171H). Today we completed the financial form and the pictures needed for our dossier. One step closer to our daughter.

Hi, I saw the link to your blog on the PLAN yahoo group. Just want you to know that all of you waiting families are in our thoughts and prayers. I am sure this is a really difficult time for you and I can't help but think how close we came to being in the same situation. We were IN Vietnam when all the noids were issued and when everything started to fall apart. Please keep us posted as to how things are going. Take care and keep the faith!
Diana, I didn't realize how long it had been since I last saw LiLi. Oh my, she is so big and so beautiful! I am sorry that the news in VN is discouraging, but I am excited that you are praying about ET. I'm praying that God leads you to the right child... or two! We have to get together some time.
Congrats on starting with Ethiopia...and I am sorry about Vietnam. My sister, her sister in law, and our pastor were all in the process. Their agency, however, is not sounding so encouraging with getting them a referral. Praying that your referral will come! Bless you for adding these miracle babies to your family! We always wanted to wait and adopt when our kids were older, but we got scared that we would never "get around to it" so here we are adopting now.
I love the photos...Lili is such a beautiful little girl. We can't wait to see you guys again, and that naked cat! Erica is in love w/ him. I pray that a miracle happens w/ Vietnam still...you never know right! Miss you so much and can't wait to see you again sooner than later.
